Mangalorean restaurant in ghala South Express

Hey foodies! Welcome back to Taste Oman Taste, where we post blogs whenever we taste something different. It was a lazy Friday morning, but not lazy enough to stave off a culinary adventure. My fingers aimlessly scrolled through Talabat to find something different from usual until I stumbled upon South Express in Ghala—a haven of Mangalorean cuisines.

What caught my eye first was the extensive range of dishes on South Express's menu, even in the morning hours. The sheer availability of options made my decision-making process both exciting and challenging. Without further ado, I placed an order for the Chicken Porotta and Kudla Bun through Talabat. The delivery arrived promptly, and the flavors were all good—good enough to spark an urge to locate South Express on the map.

The next day, I purposefully made it a lazy Saturday and drove to the location as per Google's instructions. It boasts a pretty wide ambiance with a separate section for families as well. The friendly staff welcomed us, and we bombarded them with questions to extract the best menu recommendations, not wanting to miss out on anything and regret it later.Following his suggestion, we started with Neer Dosha and Chicken Chukka. Neer Dosha, the tender dosha, a specialty of Mangalore, has always been a weakness for me, but I had never found it anywhere for breakfast. So, without wasting time, we started with Neer Dosha and Chicken Chukka with grated coconut to bite. It was really great.

Next was Goli Bhaji with coconut chutney, which vanished in no time—the golis were soft and fluffy. Continuing our gastronomic adventure, we delved into the delectable Kudla Bun and Curd, Chicken Paratha two days in succession. We ended up with a chocolate shake.
