Behind Aster Hospital
in Ghubrah lies a historic small coffee shop named Abu Naseha, which has stood
unwavering for the past four decades. They exclusively serve sandwiches, and
it's worth noting that generations have walked through its doors, with the
sandwiches they once savored remaining as addictive as ever.
Stumbling upon this coffee shop through a food vlog, we ventured to Abu Naseha. The sight of a winding queue of cars signaled its popularity, and we were left wondering how this coffee shop has sustained itself despite its limited accessibility and parking challenges.
Upon stepping into the small shop, which has been a fixture for many decades, we noticed their one-page short menu neatly placed under the glass tabletop. The concise yet effective menu boasts options like kidney, liver, mix, chicken, meat, and egg sandwiches, all accompanied by a choice of soft drink or water. We had all the sandwiches they have as the size of the sandwich is small and you can easily have 3 to 4 in one go.The sandwich is prized at 200 baiza.
For enthusiasts of unadulterated, classic sandwich flavors , Abu Naseha delivers. Their sandwiches – served with a green chili and olive pickle – offer an authentic taste of yesteryears. The liver sandwich, adorned with a hint of zesty hot sauce, strikes a perfect balance of flavors that linger delightfully.
The astonishing speed at which the heap of sandwiches diminishes is a testament to the bulk orders they receive.
From our experience, what became evident is that the essence of Abu Naseha lies in its simple and light flavors that have captured the hearts of multiple generations. Reviews from patrons echo this sentiment – the establishment has weathered time and the taste has remained the same through the decades.
