Our favorite 4 Shawarma Spots in Al Khuwair and around.
One
afternoon, we thought, why not let lunch be Shawarmas, and let it not be
from just one place? Let's hop in the car and have one Shawarma from
each of our favorite spots. Welcome to our blog, where we embark on a
culinary journey through Alkhuwair and around, exploring four of our
favorite spots to indulge in mouthwatering shawarmas. Also, we would be
grateful if you could give us your comments/suggestions of your favorite
Shawarma Spots.
Hawas The Crispy Ones. Our first stop is at
Hawas, an old eatery renowned for its crispy shawarmas. We used to go to
their Qurum branch years back when their Shawarma wraps used to be a
bit thicker. Now, there are various branches open, and we went to their
Ghubra branch. You can order parking outside and sit in the car. The
crispy outer covering is the highlight. However, if you're not a fan of
too much mayonnaise, don't hesitate to let them know your preference for
a lighter touch.
Istanboly Old Turkish: Timeless Tradition. Next
on our list is Istanboly Old Turkish, which is not just a shop but a
place of nostalgia for many who have left Oman. A beloved Turkish joint
that has stood the test of time in Al Khuwair. Stepping into this
establishment feels like stepping into a piece of history. The thinly
sliced shawarmas here are a testament to Turkish culinary excellence,
bursting with flavor and served with a side of nostalgia. Whether you
visit during the day or late into the night, the bustling ambiance adds
to the charm of this must-visit spot in Al Khuwair.
Hilal Al
Turkey: Moving on, we make our way to Hilal Al Turkey, just on the other
side of the above-said Istanboly shop near the Pump. Hilal Al Turkey
also has various branches scattered all across the city. Whether you're
grabbing a quick bite on the go or sitting down for a leisurely meal,
Hilal Al Turkey always hits the spot. They also gave us the pickles.
Suleyam
Al Pasha Ghobra: Soft and Satisfying. Our final destination brings us
to Suleyum Al Pasha Ghubra, nestled near the Indian School in Ghubra.
What sets this shawarma spot apart is its soft and thick covering bread,
which encases the succulent filling to perfection. With each bite,
you're greeted with a burst of freshness that elevates the entire
shawarma experience. Whether you're a longtime resident or a first-time
visitor to Al Khuwair, Suleyum Al Pasha Ghubra is a must-try for anyone
craving a satisfying shawarma fix, and the ever-present crowd is a thing
to watch.
